This formation in Oil-seed-Rape (Canola) was discovered from the air on the morning of April 19 2009.

The circle measures 211ft in diameter and would be considered very large for an early Spring Rape-seed formation.

Due to the overt presence of this formation in the landscape at West Kennett it was heavily visited very quickly after its discovery. The effect of many visitors has left a very large proportion of the laid crops severely damaged. 

On the ground in areas that had obviously not been trodden by visitors many plants were undamaged with smooth bends at the base of the stems. these undamaged examples continue to grow where they fell.
