Reconstruction of the
2014 Hod Hill formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Construct three circumscribed squares of circle 1, each with the mid-point of a side coincident with a different angular point of triangle 2.

4. Construct the circumscribed circle of squares 3.

5. Draw two connecting lines, between the lefthand intersection of circle 4 with the horizontal centerline and the rightmost upper angular point of squares 3, and between the lower intersection of circle 4 with the vertical centerline and the uppermost righthand angular point of squares 3.

6. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersection of lines 5.

7. Construct the inscribed square of circle 6, with one angular point coincident with the intersection of lines 5.

8. Construct the inscribed circle of square 7.

9. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the upper intersections of circles 1 and 8 with the vertical centerline.

10. Copy circle 9 to its own upper intersection with the vertical centerline.

11. Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of circle 8 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 6 at the near side.

12. Copy circle 11 to the upper intersection of circle 10 and the vertical centerline.

13. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the inner mutual intersections of squares 3.

14. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 13 at the near side.

15. Copy circle 14 to the righthand intersection of circle 6 and the horizontal centerline.

16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 15 at the righthand side.

17. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 16 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 15 at the lefthand side.

18. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 17 at the righthand side.

19. Copy circle 14 to the righthand intersection of circle 18 and the horizontal centerline.

20. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 19 at the righthand side.

21. Copy circle 17 to the righthand intersection of circle 20 and the horizontal centerline.

22. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 21 at the righthand side.

23. Copy circle 14 to the righthand intersection of circle 22 and the horizontal centerline.

24. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 23 at the righthand side.

25. Copy circle 17 to the lower intersection of circle 12 and the vertical centerline.

26. Construct a circle concentric to circle 12, tangent to circle 25 at the lower side.

27. Copy circle 14 to the lower intersection of circle 26 and the vertical centerline.

28. Construct a circle concentric to circle 12, tangent to circle 27 at the lower side.

29. Construct a "two-points" circle between the upper intersections of circles 1 and 13 with the vertical centerline.

30. Copy circle 29 two times, to the centers of circles 1 and 12.

31. Copy circle 17 two times, to the centers of circles 1 and 12.

32. Copy circle 14 to the righthand intersection of the lower circle 31 and the horizontal centerline.

33. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 32 at the righthand side.

34. Copy circle 33 to the center of circle 12.

35. Construct six parallel lines, tangent to circles 30, 31, 33, and 34, at both sides.

36. Construct a "two-points" circle between the upper intersections of circles 22 and 24 with the vertical centerline.

37. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 36.

38. Copy circle 14 to the intersection of leftmost line 35 and circle 37, and move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own lefthand intersection with circle 37. See detail.

39. Copy circle 14 to its upper intersection with circle 1. See detail.

40. Copy circle 14 to the lefthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, and move this circle to its own lower intersection with circle 1. See detail.

41. Copy circle 14 to the lower intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, and move this circle to its own righthand intersection with circle 1. See detail.

42. Draw four connected lines, from the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, to the centers of circles 39, 41 and 40, respectively, and back to the starting point.

43. Copy circle 14 to the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline.

44. Construct four lines parallel to and inside lines 42, tangent to circles 39, 40, 41 and 43, at the corresponding sides.

45. Construct a "two-points" circle between the center of circle 39 and its upper lefthand intersection with upper righthand line 42.

46. Copy circles 31 and 33 to the center of circle 45.

47. Construct two circles concentric to circle 39, tangent to circles 46 at the upper lefthand sides.

48. Copy circles 47 three times, to the centers of circles 40, 41, and 43.

49. Construct four pairs of lines, parallel to and inside lines 44, tangent to circles 47 and 48 at the corresponding sides.

50. Circles 1, 6, 8, 12, 13, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, and 38, and lines 35, 42, 44 and 49, are used for the final reconstruction.

51. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

52. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

53. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2014 Hod Hill formation.

54. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
