The year
zero
Although just one circle, this
is a circle with a big and elaborate story, the story of the year zero,
2016, which is related to the very beginning of the Mayan Great Cycle in
the year -3113, which can also be considered as a “year zero”. The
circle is at the edge of East Field, which symbolizes a transition. The
date of the formation shows several relationships in comparison with
that year zero. In a few cases there may be a few days difference like
is the case regarding the transit of Mercury that took place two days
before the formation. There are the following relations:
Transit of Mercury at the
descending node
This took place on May 9, two
days before the formation was created. This relates to a transit of
Mercury at the descending note on March 9-10, -3113 (proleptic Gregorian
calendar; April 4-5 Julian, 3114 BC historical).
See f.e.
http://fourmilab.ch/documents/canon_transits/
Note that a transit of Mercury
at the descending node roughly occurs less than once each 20 years on
average.
Although the dates/months of
both transits (in 2016 and -3113) are different, the background of the
sun and Mercury to the stars was almost the same (close to the
Pleiades). On the day of the formation (May 11), the same was true
regarding the moon. This also means that on May 11, the lunar phase was
identical in comparison with March 9, -3113.
It is remarkable that the time
span between both transits of Mercury equals 16 × 11 × 11 × 11 Mercurian
years (the number of times Mercury revolves around the sun) and seems to
relate to the day-number of the formation (May 11).
End of “Tun”, relating to
Long Count
The Mayan Long Count started on
February 13, -3113, while the completion of the erection of the World
Tree happened on 4 Ahau, 8 Cumku, which is August 11, -3113.
There are 180 days between both events. It can be shown that both events
did NOT happen on the same day as Maya-researchers generally believe.
According to an additional correction, June 1, 2012 was the end of the
Long Count (and December 21 was the end of the Great Cycle). This means
that May 11, 2016, was the last day of the fourth period of 360 days (“Tun”)
since June 1, 2012. Next day (May 12) was count 0.0.4.0.0 concerning the
new cycle of 13 Baktun.
References to Venus and Mars
There is not only a clear
reference to Mercury, but also to Venus and Mars. Around May 11, there
was an approximate opposition of the sun to Mars (precise on May 22).
This was also the case on the day of the transit of Mercury in the year
-3113. The position of Venus with respect to the sun on May 11 was the
same as on the day 4 Ahau, 8 Cumku (August 11, -3113).
Indirect relationship with
near future
The transit of Mercury in -3113
on March 10, was on the same Tzolkin-date as October 28, 2016, which is
the end-date of the so called underworlds (including the Great Cycle).
Due to the procession of the equinoxes, this date also falls
approximately a whole number of sidereal years (5129) since the day 4
Ahau, 8 Cumku (August 11, -3113).
