Reconstruction of the
2016 Nursteed Farm formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the midpoint of the righthand side of hexagon 2 and its upper righthand angular point.

4. Copy circle 3 to the center of circle 1.

5. Copy circle 3 six times, to the angular points of hexagon 2.

6. Draw the ray of circle 1 from the center to the upper righthand angular point of hexagon 2.

7. Copy circle 3 to the lower lefthand intersection of the upper righthand circle 5 and ray 6. Move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own corresponding intersection.

8. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 7.

9. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 8, pointing up.

10. Copy circle 3 five times, to the other angular points of hexagon 9.

11. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 4, pointing up.

12. Construct the inscribed circle of hexagon 11.

13. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 12, pointing up.

14. Construct the inscribed circle of hexagon 13.

15. Copy circle 14 six times, to the centers of circles 5.

16. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of the upper circle 10 and the vertical centerline, tangent to the upper circle 15 at the lower side.

17. Copy circle 16 to the upper intersection of upper circle 5 and the vertical centerline.

18. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 17 at the upper side.

19. Copy circle 16 to the top of hexagon 2.

20. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 19 at the upper side.

21. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 20, pointing up.

22. Construct a "two-points" circle between the righthand intersections of circles 4 and 12 with the horizontal centerline.

23. Construct a "two-points" circle between the center of circle 22 and its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

24. Copy circle 23 six times, to the angular points of hexagon 2.

25. Construct three pairs of parallel lines, each tangent to circles 24 at both sides, from three angular points of hexagon 2 to the three opposite angular points, as shown.

26. Construct six pairs of parallel lines, parallel to the sides of hexagon 2, each tangent to circles 24 at both sides, as shown.

27. Copy circle 23 to the intersection of the righthand side of hexagon 9 and the horizontal centerline.

28. Construct two circles concentric to circle 7, tangent to circle 27 at both sides.

29. Copy circles 28 eleven times, to the centers of circles 5, and to the other angular points of hexagon 9.

30. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to the outer circle 28 at the lower lefthand side.

31. Copy circle 23 two times, to the top and upper righthand angular point of hexagon 9.

32. Construct a pair of parallel lines, parallel to the corresponding side of hexagon 9, tangent to circles 31 at both sides.

33. Repeat steps 31 and 32 five times, for the other angular points and sides of hexagon 9.

34. Circles 12, 15, 18, 28, 29, and 30, hexagon 21, and lines 25, 26, 32, and 33, are used for the final reconstruction.

35. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

36. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

37. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2016 Nursteed Farm formation.

38. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
