Reconstruction of the
2018 Martinsell Hill formation 

1. 
 Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.


2. 
 Construct the inscribed pentagon (regular 5sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing down.


3. 
 Draw the five diagonals of pentagon 2.


4. 
 Draw the five diagonals of the pentagon enclosed by diagonals 3, and extend these lines upto pentagon 2 in both directions. Number the intersections with pentagon 2 clockwise 1  10, starting at the top left.


5. 
 Draw the five diagonals of the pentagon enclosed by diagonals 4, and extend these lines upto pentagon 2 in both directions. Number the intersections with pentagon 2 clockwise 11  20, starting at the top left.


6. 
 Draw five connecting lines between the following pairs of numbered intersections: 11 and 18, 12 and 15, 13 and 20, 14 and 17, and 16 and 19.


7. 
 Draw five connecting lines between the following pairs of numbered intersections: 1 and 8, 2 and 5, 3 and 10, 4 and 7, and 6 and 9.


8. 
 Draw five connecting lines between the following pairs of numbered intersections: 1 and 4, 2 and 9, 3 and 6, 5 and 8, and 7 and 10.


9. 
 Complete the ten small, peripheral pentagrams (regular 5pointed stars) by drawing every three respective connecting lines, as shown. See detail.




10. 
 Complete the five small pentagrams, in between pentagrams 9, by drawing every two respective connecting lines, as shown. See detail.




11. 
 Construct the circumscribed circle of the pentagon enclosed by lines 5. See detail.




12. 
 Copy circle 11 to the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline.


13. 
 Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 12 at the upper side.


14. 
 Circle 13, and lines 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, are used for the final reconstruction.


15. 
 Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.


16. 
 Colour all areas corresponding to standing...


17. 
 ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2018 Martinsell Hill formation.


18. 
 The final result, matched with the aerial image.
