Reconstruction of the
2018 Yarnbury Castle formation |
1. |
| Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2. |
| Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.
3. |
| Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 1, pointing to the right.
4. |
| Construct a circle centered at the uppermost righthand intersection of hexagons 2 and 3, tangent to circle 1 at the near side.
5. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 4 at the lower side.
6. |
| Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 5, pointing up.
7. |
| Draw six rays of circle 1, to the angular points of hexagon 2.
8. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersections of hexagons 2 and 3.
9. |
| Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the intersections of the upper righthand ray 7 with hexagon 3 and circle 8. See detail.
10. |
| Copy circle 9 to the center of circle 1.
11. |
| Construct a line, parallel to the upper righthand ray 7, tangent to circles 9 and 10 at the upper lefthand sides.
12. |
| Construct a circle inside hexagon 6, tangent to its upper sides, and tangent to line 11.
13. |
| Repeat step 12 (and all necessary previous steps) five times, with respect to the other angular points of hexagon 6, as shown.
14. |
| Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of the two righthand circles 13, tangent to circle 12 at the near side. See detail.
15. |
| Copy circle 14 six times, to the angular points of hexagon 2.
16. |
| Copy circle 9 six times, to the centers of circles 15.
17. |
| Construct 3 pairs of parallel lines, parallel to rays 7, tangent to circles 16 at both sides.
18. |
| Circles 12, 13, and 15, hexagon 6, and lines 17, are used for the final reconstruction.
19. |
| Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
20. |
| Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

21. |
| ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2018 Yarnbury Castle formation.
