Reconstruction of the
2020 Hooper's Wood formation

1.
Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2.
Construct the inscribed regular 24-sided polygon of circle 1, pointing up. Draw the twentyfour rays, from the center to the angular points, and number these rays 1 - 24 clockwise, starting at the top.

3.
Construct the inscribed octagon (regular eight-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.

4.
Construct the inscribed circle of octagon 3.

5.
Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, passing through the intersection of circle 1 and ray 2 nr. 5.

6.
Copy circle 5 to the center of circle 1.

7.
Copy circle 5 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

8.
Copy circle 5 to the lefthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, and move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own corresponding intersection.

9.
Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the righthand intersections of circles 1 and 6 with the horizontal centerline.

10.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 9.

11.
Copy circle 10 to the center of circle 7.

12.
Copy circle 10 to the center of circle 8.

13.
Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, passing through the intersection of circle 1 and ray 2 nr. 2.

14.
Copy circle 13 to the righthand intersection of circle 7 and the horizontal centerline, and move this circle to its own corresponding intersection.

15.
Copy circle 13 to the lefthand intersection of circle 8 and the horizontal centerline, and move this circle to its own corresponding intersection.

16.
Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 13 and the vertical centerline, tangent to ray 2 nr. 2.

17.
Copy circle 16 to the righthand intersection of circle 7 and the horizontal centerline, and move this circle to its own corresponding intersection.

18.
Copy circle 16 to the lefthand intersection of circle 8 and the horizontal centerline, and move this circle to its own corresponding intersection.

19.
Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 4 at the righthand side.

20.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 7, tangent to circle 19 at the righthand side.

21.
Copy circle 19 to the intersection of circles 10 and 11.

22.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 7, tangent to circle 21 at the righthand side.

23.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 21 at the lefthand side.

24.
Copy circle 19 to the intersection of circles 10 and 12.

25.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 8, tangent to circle 24 at the lefthand side.

26.
Copy circle 19 to the lefthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline.

27.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 8, tangent to circle 26 at the lefthand side.

28.
Construct two "two-points" circles, between the intersections of rays 2 nrs. 3 and 4, and nrs. 4 and 5 with circle 1.

29.
Draw two lines from the center of circle 1 to the centers of circles 28.

30.
Circles 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, and 27, rays 2 nrs. 13 and 14, and lines 29, are used for the final reconstruction.

31.
Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

32.
Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

33.
...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2020 Hooper's Wood formation.

34.
The final result, matched with the aerial image.
