Reconstruction of the
2020 Ammersee (Germany) formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed dodecagon (regular 12-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Construct the inscribed circle of dodecagon 2.

4. Construct the inscribed regular 24-sided polygon of circle 3, pointing up. Number the angular points clockwise 1 - 24, starting at the top.

5. Draw the diagonal of polygon 4 between angular points nrs. 1 and 16.

6. Repeat step 5 seven times, for pairs of angular points nrs. 4 - 19, 7 - 22, 10 - 1, 13 - 4, 16 - 7, 19 - 10, and 22 - 13.

7. Draw the diagonal of polygon 4 between angular points nrs. 2 and 17.

8. Repeat step 7 seven times, for pairs of angular points nrs. 5 - 20, 8 - 23, 11 - 2, 14 - 5, 17 - 8, 20 - 11, and 23 - 14.

9. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersection of diagonal 7 and the vertical centerline.

10. Construct the inscribed dodecagon of circle 9, pointing up.

11. Construct the inscribed circle of dodecagon 10.

12. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersection of diagonals 7 and 4 - 19.

13. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 12 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to diagonal 5.

14. Copy circle 13 to the center of circle 1.

15. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 14 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 9 at the upper side.

16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the upper intersection of diagonal 5 and circle 15.

17. Copy circle 15 to the upper intersection of circle 12 and the vertical centerline.

18. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 17 at the upper side.

19. Construct a circle concentric to circle 15, tangent to circle 16 at the upper side.

20. Copy circle 19 to the center of circle 17.

21. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 20 at the lower side.

22. Copy circle 15 to the upper intersection of circle 21 and the vertical centerline.

23. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 22 at the lower side.

24. Copy circle 19 to the upper intersection of circle 23 and the vertical centerline.

25. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 24 at the lower side.

26. Construct the inscribed octagon (regular 8-sided polygon) of circle 3, pointing up.

27. Draw the ray of polygon 4, from the center to angular point nr. 3.

28. Repeat step 27 seven times, with respect to angular points nrs. 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, and 24.

29. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the intersections of ray 27 with circle 3 and octagon 26.

30. Repeat step 29 seven times, with respect to rays 28.

31. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 9 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 11 at the upper side.

32. Copy circle 31 to the upper intersection of circle 14 and the vertical centerline.

33. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 32 at the lower side.

34. Copy circle 31 to the upper intersection of circle 16 and the vertical centerline.

35. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 34 at the upper side.

36. Copy circle 31 two times, to angular points nrs. 1 and 16.

37. Construct a line parallel to diagonal 5, tangent to circles 36 at the outer (lefthand) sides.

38. Repeat step 37 seven times, with respect to diagonals 6.

39. Copy circle 31 two times, to angular points nrs. 2 and 17.

40. Construct a line parallel to diagonal 7, tangent to circles 39 at the inner (righthand) sides.

41. Repeat step 40 seven times, with respect to diagonals 8.

42. Circles 1, 3, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 29, 30, 33, and 35, and lines 5, 6, 7, 8, 37, 38, 40, and 41, are used for the final reconstruction.

43. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

44. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

45. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2020 Ammersee (Germany) formation.

46. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
