Reconstruction of the
2020 Chirton Bottom formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Copy circle 1 to its upper intersection with the vertical centerline.

3. Copy circle 1 to its lower intersection with the vertical centerline.

4. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 2 at the upper side.

5. Construct the inscribed regular 15-sided polygon of circle 4, pointing up. Number the angular points clockwise 1 - 15, starting at the top.

6. Draw the connecting line between angular points 5 nrs. 2 and 15.

7. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to line 6.

8. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the upper intersections of circles 4 and 7 with the vertical centerline.

9. Copy circle 8 to the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline.

10. Construct a line parallel to the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 9 at the upper side, and extend this line upto circle 7 in both directions.

11. Construct a line parallel to the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 9 at the lower side, and extend this line upto circle 7 in both directions.

12. Construct a line parallel to the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the lower side, and extend this line upto circle 7 in both directions.

13. Copy circle 8 to the lower intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, and move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own corresponding intersection.

14. Construct a line parallel to the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 13 at the lower side, and extend this line upto circle 7 in both directions.

15. Construct a line parallel to the horizontal centerline, passing through the center of circle 9, and extend this line upto circle 7 in both directions.

16. Draw the ray of polygon 5 from the center to angular point nr. 15.

17. Draw the connecting line between angular points 5 nrs. 5 and 12.

18. Draw the ray of polygon 5 from the center to angular point nr. 7.

19. Draw the connecting line between the intersection of line 15 and ray 16, and the intersection of line 17 and ray 18, and extend this line upto circle 4 in both directions.

20. Circles 4 and 7, and lines 10, 11, 12, 14, and 19, are used for the final reconstruction.

21. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

22. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

23. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2020 Chirton Bottom formation.

24. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
