Reconstruction of the
2023 Preston Grange formation |
1. |
| Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2. |
| Construct the inscribed square of circle 1, pointing up.
3. |
| Construct the inscribed circle of square 2.
4. |
| Construct the inscribed square of circle 3, with sides horizontally and vertically.
5. |
| Construct the inscribed circle of square 4.
6. |
| Construct the inscribed square of circle 5, pointing up.
7. |
| Construct the inscribed circle of square 6.
8. |
| Construct the inscribed square of circle 7, with sides horizontally and vertically.
9. |
| Draw two lines, from the top of square 2 to the upper lefthand and righthand angular points of square 8.
10. |
| Repeat step 9 for the other corresponding angular points of squares 2 and 8.
11. |
| Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 7 and the vertical centerline, passing through the upper righthand angular point of square 8.
12. |
| Copy circle 11 to the righthand angular point of square 2.
13. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 12 at the righthand side.
14. |
| Copy circle 11 two times, to the intersections of circle 13 and the horizontal centerline.
15. |
| Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of circle 12 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 3 at the righthand side.
16. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 15 at the righthand side.
17. |
| Copy circle 15 eight times, to the angular points of squares 2 and 8.
18. |
| Construct eight lines parallel to lines 9 and 10, tangent to circles 17 at the outer sides, as shown.
19. |
| Circles 3, 14, and 16, and lines 9, 10, and 18, are used for the final reconstruction.
20. |
| Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
21. |
| Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

22. |
| ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2023 Preston Grange formation.
