Reconstruction of the
2023 Roundway Down formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Draw a line from the center of circle 1 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline, and divide this line into twenty-five equal parts. Number the division-nodes 1 - 24 from the center to the right. See detail.

3. Construct fourteen circles concentric to circle 1, passing through nodes 2 nrs. 5 - 17, and 21.

4. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between nodes 2 nrs. 22 and 23.

5. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 4.

6. Construct the circumscribed square of circle 5, with the sides horizontally and vertically. Draw the two diagonals between opposite angular points.

7. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through node 2 nr. 1.

8. Copy circle 7 four times, to the angular points of square 6.

9. Construct two pairs of lines, parallel to the diagonals of square 6, tangent to circles 8, at both sides, as shown.

10. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, passing through node 2 nr. 22. Move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own corresponding intersection.

11. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, passing through node 2 nr. 23.

12. Copy circle 11 to the righthand intersection of circle 10 and the horizontal centerline. Move this circle to its own corresponding intersection.

13. Copy circles 10 and 12 three times, to the corresponding positions with respect to the other sides of square 6.

14. Circles 1, 3, 10, 12, and 13, square 6, and lines 9, are used for the final reconstruction.

15. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

16. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

17. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2023 Roundway Down formation.

18. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
