Reconstruction of the
2024 Normanton Down Barrows formation |
1. |
| Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2. |
| Construct the inscribed square of circle 1, pointing up.
3. |
| Construct the inscribed circle of square 2.
4. |
| Construct the "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the upper righthand intersection of square 2 and circle 3 (tangent point) and the righthand angular point of square 2.
5. |
| Copy circle 4 four times, to the angular points of square 2.
6. |
| Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of circle 4 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 3 at the righthand side.
7. |
| Copy circle 6 four times, to the angular points of square 2.
8. |
| Draw the connecting line between the righthand intersections of the righthand circles 5 and 7 with the horizontal centerline. Divide this line into three equal parts.
9. |
| Construct two circles concentric to the righthand circle 5, passing through division nodes 8.
10. |
| Copy circles 9 three times, to the centers of the other circles 5.
11. |
| Construct the "two-points" circle between the lefthand intersections of the righthand circle 7 and the inner circle 9 with the horizontal centerline.
12. |
| Copy circle 11 to the center of inner circle 9.
13. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 12 at the lefthand side.
14. |
| Construct the circumscribed square of circle 13, with horizontal and vertical sides.
15. |
| Construct three circles centered at the righthand intersection of the righthand circle 7 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circles 9 and the righthand circle 5 at the righthand sides.
16. |
| Copy circles 15 four times, to the angular points of square 14.
17. |
| Construct three parallel lines, parallel to the upper side of square 14, tangent to the upper two sets of circles 16 at the upper sides, as shown.
18. |
| Repeat step 17 three times, with respect to the other sides of square 14 and corresponding sets of circles 16, as shown.
19. |
| Circles 5, 7, 9, 10, and 16, square 14, and lines 17, and 18, are used for the final reconstruction.
20. |
| Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
21. |
| Colour all areas corresponding to standing...
22. |
| ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2024 Normanton Down Barrows formation.
