Reconstruction of the
2024 Roman Road formation |
1. |
| Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2. |
| Construct the inscribed heptagon (regular 7-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.
3. |
| Construct the inscribed circle of heptagon 2.
4. |
| Construct the inscribed heptagon of circle 3, pointing down.
5. |
| Draw the outer set of diagonals of heptagon 2.
6. |
| Construct the inscribed circle of the heptagon enclosed by diagonals 5.
7. |
| Construct the inscribed heptagon of circle 6, pointing up.
8. |
| Construct the "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the outer lefthand and righthand angular points of heptagon 7.
9. |
| Copy circle 8 to the center of circle 1.
10. |
| Construct the inscribed heptagon of circle 9, pointing up.
11. |
| Draw the inner set of diagonals of heptagon 10.
12. |
| Draw two lines, from the lower angular point of heptagon 4, to the upper lefthand and righthand angular points of heptagon 10.
13. |
| Repeat step 12 six times, with respect to the other angular points of heptagon 4 and the corresponding angular points of heptagon 10, as shown.
14. |
| Draw two lines, from the lower angular point of heptagon 4, to the lower lefthand and righthand angular points of heptagon 10.
15. |
| Repeat step 14 six times, with respect to the other angular points of heptagon 4 and the corresponding angular points of heptagon 10, as shown.
16. |
| Construct the "two-points" circle between the upper intersections of circles 6 and 9 with the vertical centerline.
17. |
| Repeat step 16 six times, with respect to the other angular points of heptagon 10.
18. |
| Construct two lines, parallel to two diagonals 11, tangent to circle 16 and the lower circles 17 at the outer sides. See detail.
19. |
| Repeat step 18 six times, with respect to the other corresponding pairs of diagonals 11, as shown.
20. |
| Circles 1, 3, 6, and 9, and lines 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, and 19, are used for the final reconstruction.
21. |
| Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
22. |
| Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

23. |
| ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2024 Roman Road formation.
