Reconstruction of the
2019 Büren an der Aare (Switzerland) formation
1. Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 1, pointing up.
3. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 2.
4. Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 3, pointing up.
5. Copy circle 3 six times, to the angular points of hexagon 4.
6. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the outer mutual intersections of circles 5.
7. Copy circle 3 six times, to the intersections of circle 6 and circles 5.
8. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 3, pointing up.
9. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 8.
10. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 3, pointing to the right.
11. Construct a circle centered at the righthand angular point of hexagon 10, passing through the nearest intersections of circles 5 and hexagon 10.
12. Copy circle 11 five times, to the other angular points of hexagon 10.
13. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 11 at the lefthand side.
14. Copy circle 13 six times, to the intersections of circle 1 and circles 7.
15. Circles 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, and 14, are used for the final reconstruction.
16. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
17. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...
18. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2019 Büren an der Aare (Switzerland) formation.
19. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
