Field Report Badbury Rings.

Happily, entry to this Crop Circle was allowed as the farmer’s daughter was already (just) there collecting at the gate when we arrived. This made all the difference to the ‘vibe’ as you can imagine as all was calm and legit. We later met up with the farmer who was very interested in CGI services and seemed very friendly and up for suggestions. We have not seen this so far this year so was especially heartening.

As you can see from the photos, this Crop Circle has many ‘private’ places for small groups to enjoy…a feature I especially like. The ground-lay seemed familiar and consistent in it’s form with no repetitive damage features evident which put me at ease immediately. The extensive and complex geometry  gave me no real feeling to scrutinise too closely as it was almost like I had been here before and instinctively recognised it’s qualities. No special features like standing tufts or nests but some split edging was noted, also some ‘energy-leak’ on some of the tram lines. This is interestingly the third CC we have had in the Dorset area this season; a shift away from troubled Wiltshire I wonders?

Overall a very pleasant and positive experience that will hopefully be followed by other similar events this season.
